Need to find evidence-based information to support patient care, research, guideline development, audits or teaching/assignments? UHB Libraries provides a free literature search service to all Trust staff. A professional Librarian will carry out searches on your behalf to identify journal articles, guidelines, systematic reviews and other evidence-based information to help meet your requirements.
We also offer training on literature searching or you can arrange a one-to-one with us to discuss your search strategy. Find out more from the Training tab or contact your site library.
How do I request a literature search?
Literature search requests can be submitted via the UHB Library website here.
How soon will I receive the results of my search?
Requests are completed within five working days, however if your search is urgent please discuss the deadline with your site library. Your results will be sent as a PDF file to your email via KnowledgeShare.
Which databases do you search?
This will vary depending on the question but examples of databases we search include MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINAHL, Cochrane Library and NICE Evidence.
Please note we do not have access to Web of Science or SCOPUS.
